  • Do Not Go Gentle: Eugenics, Euthanasia, & Liber OZ

    Description: In this lecture, we will examine the policy and practical ramifications of euthanasia and assisted suicide from a Thelemic viewpoint, specifically the juxtaposition of policies that appear to enable free will within a society that creates restrictions on the ability to choose. We explore the history of eugenics in the West, up to and including current practices; and how euthanasic practices currently operate in the US and elsewhere, in order to inform our key question: How to fulfill Liber OZ in a non-Thelemic society?

    Description: A public celebration of Liber XV: The Gnostic Mass, the central public and private ritual of the Ordo Templi Orientis, through the auspices of Ecclesia Gnostica Catholica.

    The Gnostic Mass is a beautiful ritual that celebrates the mysteries of Thelema and our Order. It is a magical rite that exemplifies the union of the individual soul with the Absolute, culminating in a eucharistic sacrament embodying Life and Joy. The Gnostic Mass is an ideal introduction into the Mysteries and Magick of O.T.O. If you are interested in, or new to the Gnostic Mass, basic info about the Gnostic Mass can be found here: http://www.bubastis-oto.org/primary-pages/gnostic-mass/.

    There is a suggested contribution of $5.00 - $10.00 to help cover the cost of renting and maintaining our temple facility. Bring snacks and drinks to share, Fellowship is encouraged after the Mass performance. Doors open a half hour before posted start time, it is suggested you arrive early. Once the doors are locked the ritual will begin, so please refrain from knocking.

    Members of the Bubastis Oasis Education Committee host this monthly discussion and practice session covering the chapters from Crowley’s engaging “Magick in Theory and Practice.” This month we focus on Chapters XX and XXI.

    This workshop is open to everyone. Free for local dues current Oasis Members in good standing, $10 for everyone else.

    Workbooks will be provided however, we recommend that attendees bring writing tools, laptops, etc. as well.

    Azi Rasa was initiated into OTO in 1988. He serves as deputy Lodge Master of Pyramid Lodge and is an Ordained Priest of EGC. He serves as a member of the Psychology Guild and conducts training in pastoral counseling. Brother Azi has lectured at many OTO bodies in the U.S. and Europe. His work on the Yezidi was featured on Speech in the Silence, Thelema NOW and Erik Davis’ Expanding Mind. He really likes wine.

    Description: A celebration of the Festival Of Hekate with our usual ritual offering to and invocation of the blessings of Hekate.

    Bring a food offering (Amphiphon Cakes, Apples, Eggs, Garlic, Grain, Honey, Leeks, Onion, Pomegranate) and dress for sacred ritual. Expect to participate. This is the last of the Hekate nights open to new attendees.

    Open to the public with a free will donation of $10 and the requisite food offering.
