Welcome to the Bubastis Library. Housed within our temple space, the library is our local repository of books, periodicals, study and research materials, and special holding collections from benefactors of Bubastis Oasis. Goals of the Bubastis Library
Ultimately, the primary goal of the Bubastis Library is to bring resources and people together.
Furthermore, our goals as a library include:
- To serve all initiates and guests of Bubastis Oasis and of surrounding communities, and
- To acquire and make available materials and services which will address community needs, and
- To acquire the means to provide frequently requested materials locally, and
- To strive to attain new methods and ways to improve service to our local and surrounding communities, and
- To support intellectual freedom and provide materials in an effort to promulgate the Law of Thelema.
Services of the Bubastis Library
- Select, organize, and make available resources for information and study guidance.
- Sponsor and implement programs which appeal to our local community.
- Cooperate with other community and inter-Order organizations.
- Secure information beyond our own resources upon request.
- Provide services to initiates with special needs.
- Provide service hours which best meet community needs, include evenings and Saturdays.
- Promote the full range of available library services and resources.
As a new service of Bubastis Oasis, the library is still in its infancy and working to further our goals as quickly as possible. In the future, we will have online checkout, request for information, materials acquisition, and even outreach to other Order libraries to foster growth in library information technology services.
